MATTU is situated in the Leggett Building located in Guildford, the County Town of Surrey, 28 miles from the centre of London. Adjacent to and affiliated with the Royal Surrey County Hospital (see the map), the building is easily accessible by road, rail and air. There is a Holiday Inn hotel located 5 minutes walk from MATTU. The main Entrance can be reached from either the first right (Richard Meyjes Road) or the second right (Daphne Jackson Road) - both lead to a walkway which runs in front of the Leggett building to the main entrance. To proceed to MATTU please take the stairs or lift to the first floor.
From Gatwick or Heathrow, Guildford is easily reached via the M25 and then the A3. A half hourly rail/coach service runs from Heathrow via Woking. Take the coach from Heathrow, and then the train from Woking to Guildford. An hourly train service runs directly from Gatwick to Guildford.
Guildford is on the main London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour line and is only 35 minutes from London with frequent services. From the railway station take the rear exit and cross the road to the bus stop. The taxi rank is located outside the front of the station.
There are frequent bus services from Guildford main line station, on either the 4/5, 26/27, or the 36/37 services every 10 minutes to Egerton Road. Alight at the stop (opposite Tesco) before the large intersection which leads on to Gill Avenue, proceed until you reach Richard Meyjes Road, cross at the lights, and continue forward along the inside road until you reach the Leggett Building (a large white curved building with green windows and a mounted top box).
Take the Cathedral exit on the A3, and turn right at the first roundabout travelling under the bridge(following signs to the hospital). At the second roundabout (still following signs to the hospital)proceed straight on. Keep in the left hand lane and turn left at the traffic lights. MATTU is located in Daphne Jackson road which can be accessed by following the road round to the right on the one way system.

All parking around the MATTU on University of Surrey premises is controlled and enforced by the University with ANPR cameras. For courses with approved parking only a link with a code will be sent to you prior to the course. No ad hoc parking for Royal Surrey staff is permissible; Please use the Hospital car park opposite.
Although not reservable, car parking may be available in front of the Clinical Research Building (CRC, the red brick building in front of the Leggett Building). This is accessed via Daphne Jackson Road. Alternatively, further parking can be found in the Bright Horizons Nursery [advisable], which is on the left further up Richard Meyjes Road. The guest, disabled and loading spaces at the rear of the Leggett Building can only be used with specific prior arrangement. The nearest electric charging points are available at the Tesco superstore opposite the hospital.
