FRCS (Tr&Orth) Hand Surgery Revision Course

This course is aimed at SpR’s taking the FRCS (Tr&Orth) exit exam 

Course Convenors:     Miss Valerie Nuñez, Mr Anthony Hearnden & Mr Simon Thompson

This intensive two day course on hand and wrist surgery is aimed at candidates about to sit the Intercollegiate Board examination in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery. The emphasis of the course is on clinical examination of patients and viva practice under examination conditions. There will also be a fresh cadaveric prosection session as well as key tutorials and slide snaps. Faculty includes Consultant Hand Surgeons and past Hand Fellows and SpR’s who have recently taken the examination.

09:40   How I examine the Hand for the Exam -   Anthony Hearnden

10:00   Cadaveric Hand Prosection – Common Incisions, Anatomy and Operations

11:00   COFFEE

11:20   CLINICALS 1 SESSIONS (Long and Short Cases) -   ALL FACULTY

12:30   LUNCH

13:30   VIVAS 1 SESSION -  ALL FACULTY

16:00   Brachial Plexus Lecture and Clinical Case -  Simon Pickard

17:00   Regroup and debrief about day  

17:30   CLOSE

19:00   Course Dinner @ ‘Olivo’s Restaurant’ in Guildford town centre
