A one day course aimed at early and intermediate surgical trainees featuring live surgery of the management of benign and malignant disease of the terminal ileum and right colon with face to face teaching on anatomy, decision making,  pre-operative management, avoidance of and management of complications.

The programme times are approximate and will be adjusted in relation to the live surgery.

Multiple cases of elective ileo-caecal resection and right hemicolectomy performed by experts throughout the day and beamed live in 4K 2D and 3D HD with moderation from an expert panel of surgeons.

Right colonic anatomy and its common and rare variations

Step by step right colonic resection.

Avoiding complications in Right hemicolectomy. Uncertain anatomy,

ureters, bleeding.

What are the issues regarding Total mesocolic excision and D3 lymphadenectomy ?

Is Intra-operative ICG of any value ?

Hepatic flexure and proximal transverse tumours.

When to do an open operation ? When to convert ?

The mesenteric defect.

The anastomosis. Techniques and outcomes. When to staple, when to suture ?

Does it make a difference ?

Is there a role for intra-corporeal anastomosis ?
