Alison Snook qualified as a nurse at St Bartholomew\'s Hospital,London in 1983 and chose the operating theatres as her specialty. A further year studying the finer aspects of theatre life and a teaching course led her to a theatre sister post in 1986. As leader of a busy General surgical theatre she was at the forefront of the laparoscopic revolution when laparoscopic cholecystectomy was introduced. A keen interest into emerging technologies and techniques led to a move into education and in 1995 she became Manager of The Minimal Access Therapy Training Unit [MATTU] in Guildford. Her enthusiasm has taken her all over the world lecturing and teaching in this specialist field.
