Dr Fawcett is a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at The Royal Surrey County Hospital and Senior Fellow at the Postgraduate Medical School at the University of Surrey, where he is both a lecturer and examiner.
His Interests are Anaesthesia for upper and lower Gi procedures, in particular Liver resections and Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery. He has recently been involved in the National Enhanced Recovery Programme with the NHS Institute for Inovation and Improvement, the NHS Cancer Action Team, the 18 weeks Implementation Team, and the Department of Health.
Dr Fawcett was previously a lecturer at St George\\\'s Hospital Medical School and has continued to publish widely, with nearly 100 publications to date. He has presented his work in America, Europe and China as well as the UK.
Dr Fawcett and Dr Mike Scott have run courses at the Mattu since 2008, and will be running their first course on enhanced recovery at The Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland in October 2009.
