Course Director Professor Tim Rockall.
A two-day intensive course with an expert faculty. The course is suitable for consultants and senior trainees as well as whole theatre teams aiming to develop a laparoscopic colo-rectal practice. A series of lectures and edited videos provides step by step tuition for all the common colo-rectal procedures including right and left hemicolectomy, anterior resection (TME), AP resection, splenic flexure mobilisation, total colectomy, pouch surgery and rectopexy.
Patient selection, equipment requirements, theatre set-up, pre- and post-operative management and outcomes, as well as the controversial topics of cancer surgery and enhanced recovery programs are all presented, discussed and debated by experts in their field.
At least five live cases will be transmitted during the course, which can contribute to the ten cases required by the ALSGBI / ACPGBI prior to embarking on the national preceptorship programme.
