This one day course is aimed at providing anaesthetists with the basic skills of ultrasonography related to anaesthetic practice.Although not specifically a regional anaesthetic course the main emphasis is on regional anaesthesia with vascular access and ICU relevant material included.

The course is practical experience /exposure heavy with 4 hours of practical machine,probing and needling skills.

The faculty includes 14 consultant anaesthetists and radiologists with a specialist interest in ultrasound practice.Live models and needling phantoms will be used.

There will be a formal assessment using MCQ'S practical assessment and OSCE'S with a certificate presented.The course is recognised for 5 CPD points.
